Lewis County CARES

 

The Lewis County Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize Lewis County CARES (Community Access to Resources, Education and Support) as the featured business of the week. CARES is a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting people’s time, talent and treasure for the good of Appalachian communities. Many important endeavors facilitated by CARES include Take Action for Wellness diabetes coalition, the New Beginnings recovery coalition, and the Lewis County Cancer Coalition. CARES will be assisting with the 2012 Relay for Life in Lewis County that will be held on June 1 at the Lewis County Middle School and the Ohio River Sweep that is scheduled for Saturday, June 16. CARES also serves as the Lewis County Liaison for the American Red Cross, supporting assistance with fire loss and weather-related disasters. Anita Gilbert, Director of Lewis County CARES, says their motto is “Working together to make great things happen in Lewis County” and that is exactly what has happened since opening their doors a year ago. Lewis County CARES is located at 93 Third Street in Vanceburg.

Vanceburg Tax and Accounting

     The Lewis County Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize Rayburn’s Grocery as the Lewis County Business of the Week.

     Rayburn’s Grocery is located on Rt. 59 on Grassy, and is owned by Arthur and Kathy Rayburn. The Rayburn’s have been in business since 2000. Besides serving as a community grocer, Rayburn’s also hosts a deli and diner with a full range of options from pizza to burgers to
either enjoy in the store’s dining room or as carryout options. Rayburn’s is open Monday-Friday 8am-8pm, and Saturday 8am-6pm. Thanks to Rayburn’s Grocery for being a part of the Lewis County business community.
